“I didn't find Jesus until I was in a California prison. I'm looking at 30 years, and this Gideon brings me a Bible. I told him, ‘I'm going to roll joints with that thing.’ And he's like, ‘Well, just read the page first—then smoke it.’”

“And I found myself sitting on the toilet in this cell giving my life over to God. I said, ‘I want to not be angry—I want to wake up with this joy that this scripture says you give. If I can wake up with joy and be happy and not be angry, I will believe what this book says’.”

“The next day, I woke up with this overwhelming peace of not being angry. That was my first time of being truly thankful ever in my life. I was like, ‘Whoa, it worked!’ So what I learned from that was, ‘Ask God, ask God, ask God’.”

“Practice gratitude because it helps us grow. And if we're not growing, guys, then we're comfortable. And when we're comfortable, we're not learning. But when we're uncomfortable, we're learning. I had to continue learning and growing in this practice of gratitude, and I do to this day.”
